Aspire to Africa 2014 – Update

We’re pleased to announce that the Aspire to Africa 2014 team have completed a very busy and successful first week in Tanzania.

The team have been based in the Temeke region on the East Coast and have visited Yaleyale Puna Primary School and Mbuyuni Primary School. They have worked closely with the staff for several days and have helped develop their PE teaching skills. Youngsters at the schools have also been treated to lots of structured lessons and have experienced some new activities.

The hard work didn’t just finish on the sports field either. The team have been observing and delivering their own lessons in the classrooms too.

Group leader Corrine Mitchell said “The schools have been so welcoming and the team have worked extremely hard to really make a difference. It’s so heart warming to see the impact the project has on everyone in the schools and the local community.”

Corrine continued “It’s been a real busy week and we’ve had to deal with some tough conditions but we can’t wait for the second half of the trip where we visit the Kilwa region. We finish our work in Okombozi Primary School.”
