“Words cannot describe just how inspiring the project has been for me. From teaching the children, to educating the teaching staff and meeting the local communities, this trip has given me memories that will last forever. I would 100% recommend Aspire to Africa to other teachers!”

Danielle Barr, Chadsmead Primary School

Aspire to Africa

The Aspire to Africa project was established in 2010. It’s mission is to develop and educate schools and local communities in Africa through physical activity and sport. The project also aims to help develop personal skills such as teamwork, interpersonal abilities and leadership.

We send a team to Africa on an annual basis to work with schools, providing them with sports equipment and educational resources. The Aspire to Africa team will use the equipment and resources, combined with their expertise to educate the teachers and the children of the schools, ensuring that the project creates a lasting legacy that uses sport to develop life changing opportunities.

Funds are raised to help support the project as well as purchasing equipment and educational resources for the African schools.

Children and schools in the UK benefit too! We develop links between the African schools and the schools we work with in the UK and have a policy to invite schools to send their staff on the trip. This helps add a global dimension to their curriculum, broaden pupils’ awareness of global issues in a meaningful way and enhance curricular learning.

Since 2011, we have worked with over 700 children and helped up-skill 92 teachers in 12 primary schools across four regions of Tanzania, with 36 participants from the UK. How you can help

Fundraising is essential and we are always on the lookout for supporters and sponsors for the Aspire to Africa project.

Businesses can benefit from being involved in this project too. It not only gives your staff an active charity project to be involved with that makes a real difference but it also gives you some great publicity.

Many customers and clients are looking into Corporate Social Responsibility before deciding to work with a business.

While some businesses donate a considerable amount of money to their chosen charities this does not compare at times to being actively involved in fundraising activities and putting time into the charity.
