Aspire to Africa 2012

The second Aspire to Africa trip took the team back to Tanzania for 15 of the most rewarding days they have experienced in a very long time, if ever before.

Five members of Aspire Sports, who worked tirelessly raising funds for the charitable trip, were joined by two members of teaching staff from Four Oaks Primary School in Sutton Coldfield.

The aim of the trip was to deliver sports coaching sessions to the children of Man’gula Primary School, Tumaini Primary School and Mgeta Primary School. All of the schools are situated in the Morogoro region of Tanzania.

An important aspect of the trip also included the educating of teaching staff. The Aspire Sports team shared their expertise and helped the teaching staff develop their skills, knowledge and understanding in the delivery of a vast range of activities including football, Frisbee, dance, softball and athletics to name a few.

Each of the two day school visits were concluded with the presentation of sports equipment and coaching resources to further enhance their limited curriculum.

The influence that we have had on the schools and pupils has been phenomenal and to be part of a project that has such a positive impact on people’s lives will live long in my memory. It has been truly amazing!”
